Adolescents & Families
I work to cultivate an environment of empowerment for adolescents. A space for their voice to be heard and their ideas to be encouraged. Emotions, feelings, peer dynamics, school, and family dynamics can be common stressors during this particular stage of development, self exploration, image building, and biological changes. I am here to support youth throughout this process. I have a passion for supporting adolescents on their journey and strive to be a safer place for them to explore their experiences, identify how they would like things to be different, and the role they play in actively creating that change.
I have a strong therapeutic orientation from the Family Systems perspective. When working with families, we focus on the shared family goals (what we would like to be different). I am here to facilitate more effective communication within families. I strive to support the cultivation of an environment within session that leads a different experience between family members, rather than re-experiencing events that occur in the home. I look forward to supporting your family through this journey.
Adult adhd
I believe that building opportunities to experience self efficacy can be very powerful in helping to support creating change and building routine. ADHD (previously referred to as ADD) focused therapy services can often include problem solving factors impacting distractibility, creating an organization system that works best for the individual, and formulating specific next steps to complete. We will work together to address any co-occuring symptoms (i.e. depression, anxiety, etc.) and create a plan of treatment that centers your individual goals.
Systemic Oppression
Systemic oppression is the “intentional disadvantaging of groups of people based on their identity while advantaging members of the dominant group (race, gender, sexuality, language, ability, etc.).Learn More
I believe that systemic oppression and intergenerational trauma are just two of the socio-cultural factors that impact our ability to engage with our surroundings, experience safety, and feel empowered to create change. These are important factors not to be ignore, but instead to be explored. I’d like to support you through this process.
Autism
I have a foundation built on the understanding that each of us is our own unique individual who has needs specific to ourself. Through ABA training, continued education (training and readings from Autistics), and work providing services in homes with families, I gained a tremendous amount of experience to further support my education and understanding of meeting people where they are at and respecting each individual’s autonomy. I strive to support people on their journey. I am a patient and caring practitioner who uses a direct approach of communicating and encouraging individual ideas and goal development.
